Graduate Sports Massage Therapist
Hannah Emmerson Bsc (Hons) MRes
I am a graduate sports therapist and a member of the Society of Sports Therapists, graduating from Edge Hill University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Therapy. After graduating I remained in Liverpool and at Edge Hill University to study for my Masters by Research in Sports Therapy, with a specific focus on ankle sprain rehabilitation with the use of GPS technology. My paper, ‘Is There a Role for GPS in Determining Functional Ankle Rehabilitation Progression Criteria? A Preliminary Study.’ written with with M Greig and J McCreadie, was published in The Journal of Sports Rehabilitation in 2018.
During my time at university I had placements at a private sports injury clinic in Manchester and at the academy of a premier league football club, gaining valuable experience from the wide range of injuries and treatments I observed. After graduating, I worked at another sports injury clinic in Manchester alongside studying for my Masters. As well as a degree in sports therapy, I am a level 4 SMA practitioner and have completed CPD courses in Kinesio taping, Medical acupuncture, Rocktape IASTM and soft tissue release.
I really enjoy being part of the JT Chiropractic team and love looking after a wide variety of patients here. In my spare time outside of the clinic, I enjoy cross fit training and swimming. During the summer months, I do open water swimming in the Liverpool docks with Jen. I really enjoy being part of the JT Chiropractic team and love looking after a wide variety of patients here.
